On September 16th, the fourteen people who peacefully shut down the main rail line used to transport coal to the West Coast appeared in Helena’s City Court, and were formally charged with trespass. We’re still waiting to learn what the exact consequences for these brave souls will be, but they are likely to be fined over $300 each. There are also significant costs associated with making sure the fourteen have strong legal support and representation.
Your donation will help us ensure that we’re able to provide financial assistance to these brave activists, when the time comes that they have to pay a fine to the city. It will also make sure that our tireless legal team, which is providing legal representation for the fourteen at a vastly reduced rate, is able to continue doing this work. Please consider donating what you can!
